Ancient beyond telling, far predating any other mortal race, the elves were the first of those doomed to die, and the last race born touching the First World, where time is a thing walked through and the seasons were ruled by royalty. Known for their friendliness, admired for their beauty, elves never age past their physical prime; but their vaunted agelessness comes at a steep price — no elf lives far past their fiftieth birthday, and all are born knowing the day they will die.

An elf gains the following racial features:

  • Pendulum Mind: Elves are immune to magical sleep and resistant to mental effects. They also have a near-perfect internal clock.
  • Senses of the First World: Elves see in ways that others cannot.
  • Beloved of Yersinia: Elves are immune to disease, nearly immune to poison, and cannot be affected by some curses.
  • The Ticking Clock: Elves are immune to aging effects, and live knowing when they will die.
  • Ties to the First World: Elves are not as despised by the Fair Folk as other races and have stronger magic than other races.

In addition, choose two of the following traits.

  • Elven Agility: An elf with this trait is faster than other races, and can walk on things that would never support their weight.
  • Bottomless Well: An elf with this trait is resistant to level drain and ability drain.
  • The Mildness: An elf with this trait has a wide variety of social skills that embarrass the diplomats of other races…or at least, nine of them do.
  • Swift and Silent: An elf with this trait is hard to track, and can blend into the background merely by moving.
