Epaeives, the Tyrants

The Queens rule the underworld and are the final tyrant that no mortal can escape. She offers little in return for mortal worship, but few prices are too great to get on the good side of Epaeives. After all, she will be your queen one day.

Special: Worship of Epaeives is the only way to gain personal access to resurrection spells or rituals of any kind; Epaeives simply does not respond to resurrection requests from other mortals. Buying scrolls written by a Cleric of Epaeives will still work. Epaeives is also the only way to gain access to the knowledge of the dead in any form. She otherwise completely ignores her own clerics and has no interest in them, or indeed, anything of the category that dies. However, her servitors are not so aloof and can still be contracted, and indeed may appear before the clerics of Epaeives with missions that probably, at some point, originated with the goddess herself. Of course, she won’t answer if you ask.

☨Claim: This spell is identical to Harm, except as follows:

Claim never heals any creature and harms both undead and mortals. Non-undead reduced to 0 HP by this spell increase their Dying value by 1 more than usual. Against creatures already at 0 HP, this spell acts as Death Knell. Undead creatures destroyed by this spell are immediately dragged to the underworld, so long as their soul is not bound to the material world somehow; this prevents weaker autoresurrective effects, such as those of skeletons.

Epaeives strangely also has power over language. She can grant her clerics the power to speak the True Tongue of the gods and be understood by anyone or anything, even the deaf or inanimate — or, for that matter, corpses. You can speak one simple sentence of the True Tongue that will be understood by everything nearby. They may not necessarily obey. You can speak an additional sentence per day at 3rd level and every 3 levels thereafter.
