Xian — Wind and Breath

Spiritual perception. A Xian can extend their awareness outward to detect living beings, spiritual energy, hidden formations, killing intent. The power of this ability scales with the number of steps on the Endless Path that a Xian has taken.

At the Physical Purification stage, a Xian gains a +2 racial bonus to Perception and Sense Motive. If they would be Surprised: they roll Perception again to avoid being Surprised, and if they succeed, they gain a +4 bonus to Initiative.

At the Qi Condensation stage, a Xian ignores all barriers within 30 ft. less than an inch thick when making Perception checks. However, they remain unable to see through even thin walls, though they can detect the presence or absence of objects and their rough shape and size through them. Also, a Xian now is never Surprised or Flat-Footed.
