The Great Coney is a Bunny grown ancient and enormous. Most Bunnies live for around ten years but rarely a Bunny can live for centuries. When this happens the Bunny swells to fantastic sizes and gains the ability to change positions without crossing the intervening space. Some have proposed that Great Coney is merely very fast, too fast to track with mortal eyes; however because the creatures can also gnaw through a Man’s arm without harming his sleeves it is more commonly believed that a Great Coney has privileged access to the Astral Plane and probably moves through it as well.

A Great Coney does not gain any additional intellect despite its growth and it remains animalistic in behavior. However its enormous size means that almost nothing can threaten it physically, and the disintegrating beam it had as a Bunny has grown in strength proportionate to its size. The glare of a Great Coney is as feared as that of a Catoblepas and can bore through a castle wall without issue. Fortunately a Great Coney is as amicable as the Bunny it grew from and does not attack Mannish settlements, or much of anything except clover fields.

Great Coneys do not appear to eat proportionately more than Bunnies. Even in areas inhabited by multiple Great Coneys there is no evidence of the local vegetation being especially devastated, at least compared to other areas inhabited by Bunnies. They are rare and tend to live far from settled areas; however Bunnies which are attacked and not killed have the ability to call a Great Coney to their side to obliterate their attackers, so Great Coneys are well known, if not well-witnessed.
