Toradin

Last of the Fire-Giants

God of Crafts, the Forge, Toil, Wealth, and Metal

The Purifier, Maker of Wonders, Last of the Fire-Giants, Who Built the Foundation, the Maker of Moons and Mountains, Architect of the Vault of Heaven, the Coppercaster of the Gods, the Great Potter, Giver of Riches

The Thirdborn, and now the Last, of the Fire Giants, Toradin was said to be the creature that smelted the first ingot, cast the first coin, sharpened the first axe and forged the first sword. Metal such as bronze or iron is not one of the Pure Elements that make up this world; it is something foreign, something unnatural, a material which by its very nature carries with it the spark of divinity, the will of a living creature that it should take stone and make it more stonelike than stone itself. Many of the old wonders which were never replicated in the world were made by his hands.

According to some legends, Toradin forged the Dwarren from the Heartstone that lies in the deepest place of the earth. The first four he made were the greatest and they guard the cardinal directions in his name, known as the Four Kings, or the Dwarves of the Four Directions. It is unclear whether or not these Dwarren are still alive, but at the very least the dawi believe their statues still stand, for these four greatest of the dwarren were made to hold up the Dome of the Sky. Should even a single one leave their assigned post, the sky itself would begin to fall. In the oldest times they met once after Toradin’s ascension to discuss their next move, and Toradin forbade them to ever meet again, for when they did the directions themselves folded in on each other and all the world lay in the space of the dinner table at which they sat.
